Pat Young – Head Community Coach

Coach Young started playing lacrosse when he was 5 years old in a PeeWee league in Upstate New York. He was given the opportunity to play all positions on the lacrosse field. Finding out that he was gifted in offense as well as defense led him to gain much experience in all aspects of the game. Coach Young played high school varsity lacrosse at Webster High School under head coach Mark Sweeny for four years. His sophomore year he received honorable mention and his junior and senior years he made first team all-county. He received All-American honors his senior year as a long-stick Middie. During his sophomore and junior years he made the Empire State games (All-American game for the state of New York).  After graduating from high school he attended Michigan State University where he played long stick middie with their division 1 program.  His passion for the game of lacrosse led him into coaching and his lacrosse coaching career started at Pennfield Youth Program in Pennfield NY, where he coached for two years and was then asked to coach at Irondequoit High School for their varsity program where he led them to four state championships.  Wanting to further challenge himself, he left Irondequoit to begin coaching at a new program at McQuaid High School where he coached that varsity team for four years with the last two years resulting in making the playoffs.  With his move to Georgia, he started coaching at Marist High School, changing that program to winning ways.  Shortly after, he found a need for defensive knowledge at Northview High School so he elected to join them and was able to help them win the State Championship.  Coach Young joined the Mountain View program in 2016 to take over youth development for our program to have the same success he's provided for his previous teams.
