GAME RESULTS BEND 0 - MVHS 12 The Mountain View Cougars ended their season on a high note, defeating Bend's JV2. Vince Cunningham led the scoring with 4, followed by Matthew Asher with 3, Max Mortensen with 2, Rylan Kihs, Hunter Martinez and Chris Barber with 1 each.

GAME RESULTS MVHS JV vs BEND JV1 May 12, 2008 at HAL PUDDY BEND 2 - MVHS 0 The Cougar's were held scoreless against Bend's
JV1 team. Mountain View took 21 shots, but couldn't get one past Bend's
outstanding goalie.

GAME RESULTS SISTERS JV vs MVHS JV May 8, 2008 at MVHS SISTERS 4 - MVHS 11 The Cougars are on a roll as the end of the season approaches. Today's victory guarantees a winning season for Mountain View High School's first ever boys lacrosse team. The Cougars record to date is 6-3-1, with two games left to play. Hunter Martinez joined the hat trick club tonight with 3 goals. Rylan Kihs and Max Mortensen scored two each. Zach Moran, Chris Barber, Ben Schimmoller and Jacob Paredes all had one score. Hats off to goalie extraordinaire, Grady Kerron, for another great game with eight recorded saves. The defense played a tough, physical game, keeping the technically good Sisters team in check.

GAME RESULTS SUMMIT JV vs MVHS JV May 7, 2008 at MVHS SUMMIT 0 - MVHS 6 The Cougar boys SHUTOUT the Summit JV team today and looked very good doing it. The victory was sweet after losing to Summit early in the season by one point in the last second of the game. Max Mortensen used his patented X-around-one-handed-through-the-backdoor move with success and scored a hat trick to lead the Cougar's offense. Rylan Kihs, Vince Cunningham and Ben Schimmoller all had one score each. Goalie Grady Kerron, deflected shot after shot and had 9 recorded saves to earn the shutout. Way to go, Cougars!

GAME RESULTS MVHS JV vs HARNEY COUNTY JV May 3, 2008 at BURNS MVHS 5 - HARNEY COUNTY 5 The Cougars traveled east for their longest road trip of the season to Burns/Hines to play Harney County JV. These two teams have had close scoring games at their last two meetings and this game was no exception. An exciting game ended tied at 5 each. Ben Schimmoller led the scoring with 2, followed by single goals by Michael Asher, Matthew Asher and Jacob Paredes.

MAY 1, 2008 MID-SEASON SUMMARY Just past midway through the 12 game conference season, the Cougars have an impressive first year conference record so far of 4 wins and 3 losses. The Cougars are coming on strong with a 3 game conference winning streak. The remainder of the season will finish quickly with the final five games being played over an eleven day period beginning this Saturday in Burns against Harney County. Team scoring leaders for the season so far are Matthew Asher and Ben Schimmoller with 11 goals each. Max Mortensen has 9 goals for the season, followed by Vince Cunningham with 7, Rylan Kihs with 4, Hunter Martinez, Zach Moran and Nick Smith with 2 each and Jacob Paredes with one goal.

GAME RESULTS BEND JV2 vs MVHS JV April 30, 2008 at MVHS BEND 2 - MVHS 14 WOW! The MVHS boys lacrosse team put it all together against Bend's JV2 team. All the scoring came from the four attack players, three with a hat-trick each and one with 4 goals! Max Mortensen lead the scoring with four scores. Matthew Asher, Ben Schimmoller and Vince Cunningham all had three goals, Michael Asher had 1. Goalie Grady Kerron had 2 saves, and the entire defense had very little to do because the Cougars controlled the ball very well and kept it on their offensive side of the field for most of the game.

Sisters Lacrosse Tournament
SATURDAY APRIL 26, 2008
MVHS had a good showing at the Sisters JV lacrosse tournament. The
Cougars lost their first game to Lake Oswego, one of the tournaments
better teams. The second game against Harney County went down to the
last minutes of the game with Harney County coming out on top. Game
three had the Cougars pitted against a small but aggressive Aloha
team, who the Cougars handled easily and recorded a win. The fourth
and final game ended with a tie.

GAME RESULTS MVHS JV vs SISTERS JV April 21, 2008 at SISTERS MVHS 6 - SISTERS 3 Despite the cold snowy weather, MVHS boys lacrosse team beat the Sisters Outlaws JV boys lacrosse team on their turf. Vince Cunningham lead the scoring with a hat trick, followed by single goals from Rylan Kihs, Nick Smith and Max Mortensen. Goalie Grady Kerron had 5 recorded saves.

GAME RESULTS SISTERS JV vs MVHS JV April 16, 2008 at MVHS SISTERS 3 - MVHS 5 The MVHS boys lacrosse team outsized and overpowered a good Sisters JV team. Team scoring leader was Matthew Asher with his second hat trick of the season. Rylan Kihs and Ben Schimmoller each had one goal. Goalie Grady Kerron had 7 saves.

GAME RESULTS MVHS JV vs BEND JV1 April 11, 2008 at Hal Puddy MVHS 4 - BEND JV1 9 The Mountain View boys lacrosse team fell to a seasoned Bend JV1 team. The two teams traded the lead throughout the first three quarters of the game. One score each was recorded by MVHS players Rylan Kihs, Zach Moran, Matthew Asher and Ben Schimmoller. Goalie Grady Kerron had 10 saves. The Bend JV1 team went ahead late in the game with a scoring flurry that was unanswered by the MVHS team. Bend was able to win the game despite their 6 penalties to MVHS's one.

GAME RESULTS MVHS JV vs SUMMIT JV April 7, 2008 at Hal Puddy MVHS 7 - SUMMIT 8 The Mountain View boys lacrosse team played a great game against Summit JV ending with a heart-felt loss by one point on a shot in the final second of the game. Goalie Grady Kerron had 17 saves, another great game. Defense played tough against the evenly matched Summit team. On offense, Ben Schimmoller scored his second hat trick of the season. Two goals by Max Mortensen, and singles by Nick Smith, and Jacob Paredes rounded out the scoring.

GAME RESULTS HARNEY Co. JV VS MVHS JV April 4, 2008 at MVHS Harney Co. JV 6 - MVHS 5 The Mountain View defense again did a great job to hold a very fast, very well seasoned Harney County team to only 6 points. Goalie Grady Kerron had an outstanding game with 13 recorded saves. On the scoring side of the field, Mountain View had 4 scoring players, Matthew Asher led the team with two scores. Rylan Kihs, Max Mortensen and Hunter Martinez all had one score each.

MVHS JV vs BEND JV2 April 3, 2008 at Hal Puddy field MVHS 10 - Bend JV2 1 Way to go guys! Stellar defense and the
ability to score at will made for a great first game for Mountain View
High School's first ever boys lacrosse team. The scoring was shared by
many, including a hat trick by Ben Schimmoller, two goals each by Hunter
Martinez and Matthew Asher, and goals by Rhylan Kihs, Vincent Cunningham
and Max Mortensen. Many others had shots and assists on the
offensive side of the field. NEXT GAME: Tomorrow, Friday 5:30 p.m. at Mountain View against Burns. PLAYERS: Meet at the field no later than 4:45 p.m. and be on the field, in full gear, huddled and ready for the coaches instruction promptly at 5:00 p.m. PARENTS: Bring your own chairs, we don't have bleachers. You can sit inside or outside the fence on the parking lot side, but you will need to be right up against the fence if you are inside. Our field has minimal sideline space. You can also park your car facing the field and watch the game from your car or put your chair on the elevated parking area for a great view. Practice Schedule
M-F 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm We have decided to add Fridays to our practice schedule because of our late start on the season. Try your best to make it to all the practices. If you cannot attend practice please let the coach know, BEFORE you miss. We will practice Friday, March 14th at the regular time. We will be practicing during Spring Break, times to be announced.
